Middle East Energy 2026
Ampacimon: proven monitoring solutions for critical power assets
Ampacimon will take part in Middle East Energy 2026, held from 7 to 9 April 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, one of the leading international gatherings for the energy sector. You can meet our team in the Spanish Pavilion, booth H2.E23, where we will present our solutions for Partial Discharge Monitoring and Dynamic Line Rating.
Partial Discharge Monitoring: early detection for asset reliability
Partial discharges often signal the earliest stages of insulation deterioration in high‑voltage assets. Ampacimon supports operators with two complementary approaches, spot testing and continuous monitoring, enabling utilities to adapt their diagnostic strategy to operational priorities.
Spot testing provides periodic diagnostic insight and is well suited for targeted inspections or planned maintenance campaigns. Ampacimon’s tools, including PD Pico and the PDSolver software, offer portable, practical on‑site measurement capabilities designed for technicians in the field.
Continuous monitoring offers uninterrupted, real‑time observation of PD activity on critical assets. Systems built on SmartVisor and the PDEye analytics platform automatically filter noise, detect minor defects, and generate detailed alerts regarding type, location, and criticality. These insights integrate smoothly into SCADA and asset‑management systems, supporting early intervention and long‑term reliability planning.
Together, these approaches provide operators with a clearer understanding of insulation behaviour, help reduce unexpected failures, and support condition‑based maintenance strategies.
Dynamic Line Rating: understanding true line capacity
Ampacimon’s Dynamic Line Rating solutions allow operators to unlock additional capacity on overhead transmission lines by using real‑time or model‑based assessments of conductor behavior. This enables more efficient network operation, improved integration of renewable generation, and reduced congestion without requiring immediate infrastructure upgrades.
Ampacimon offers two types of DLR approaches, sensorless and sensor‑based, each suited to different stages of deployment and network needs.
Sensorless solutions, such as Ambient‑Adjusted Rating and Facility Rating, use weather data, thermal modelling, and operational information to calculate dynamic ratings without installing hardware on the line. These software‑driven methods offer a fast and cost‑effective way to scale DLR across large network areas, helping utilities increase capacity and support renewable integration while keeping installation effort low.
Sensor‑based solutions, using Ampacimon’s Sense and Sense X devices, provide real‑time measurements directly from the conductor. These sensors capture sag, vibration, and other mechanical behaviour, enabling highly accurate, moment‑to‑moment calculations of available ampacity. This level of precision allows operators to confidently maximise line utilisation, manage congestion, and enhance overall grid reliability. Ampacimon describes its sensor‑based DLR as delivering accurate measurements and forecasting on critical paths, making it particularly valuable for networks where precision and safety margins are essential.
While both approaches contribute to increased operational flexibility, sensor‑based DLR offers the most precise view of true conductor behaviour and can therefore provide the highest capacity gains on key transmission corridors.
Meet us in Dubai
Our team will be present throughout the event in the Spanish Pavilion, booth H2.E23, ready to demonstrate both technologies, share deployment experience, and discuss how monitoring can support the specific challenges of your network.
